The driver code source and makefiles for applicom® and applicomIO® are supplied. Allow to recompile (without any modification) the kernel driver for Linux kernel (>2.6.3-7mdk). A pre-compiled version of the driver is however supplied for kernel = 2.6.3-7mdk.
Supported development platform
Most Linux packages, redistributing the Linux kernel 2.6.3-7mdk and upper, can be used.

Libraries are supplied as static libraries (no shared libraries ".so") and so cannot be used from JAVA through JNI
The Linux solution supports the new PCI 32-bits management
Libraries are supplied in two modes:
- For mono-process use.
- For multi-process use. In this case, two particular daemons must be start on the target.
Mutli-threading (forks) is not supported by the solution
The Linux solution supports configuration > 8Kb

Configuration / Initialisation
- Pre-initialised cards using applicom® Console under Windows. Can be done via: Dual boot system, Flashing card memory, Remote configuration through TCP/IP, and Serial port.
- Produce configuration file (.ply) using applicom® Console under Windows and copy file to Linux system to use "Player" tool to initialise the card.

Limitations
- Multi-threading (forks) is not supported by the solution

- Potential problems with C runtime library version. Contact us.
- No support of DWORD inversion for Modbus on Ethernet protocol
- The Multi Proccessor (SMP) is not supported
